I have no pictures because of a broken camera so unfortunately I am out of luck in that department maybe after the New Year when Aisha comes. Anyway good news is I am back on the road, and had a great adventure on a rough road to Lenquin, Guatemala. They were dinomiting and running huge trucks as I rode by. It was amazing, the road brought you up over clouded mountains that would open up upon descending into these beautiful mountain valley. I was in the middle of no where for about 6 or 7 hours. It was a great way to spend my first day back on the road.
Before I left Flores, I had to visit a hospital because the thorn I thought would work itself out decided to heal and get really infected. I went to the hospital and had to search for somebody to help. I walked in and I could find anyone to ask about my hand, and after finding the emergency room, the doctor didn’t think anything was wrong with my hand. I assured her that the was definitely a thorn in there, so she agreed to cut me open. With my figure numb he sliced me in two spots and found the thorn. It was so big it gave me chills. I got the first hand experience at Guatemala health care, its FREE! I was stitched up and sent on my way. So when I hit the road I was 100%. It is really easy when you are out in the middle of no where to realize just how easy life is back in the states but how difficult we make it for ourselves. The indigenous mountain people here work from the time they can walk until the time they pass away, but they always have a smile on their face which is pretty awesome. I wave to everyone in the mountains, and here in Guatemala you might get a wave back but most likely you will get a loud whistle saying hello. Everyone I waved and whistled at me with a smile. I am enjoying being back on the road! I just wish I could take pictures for everyone! I am headed to El Salvador tomorrow!
