Hope and Hospitals

Well sicker then sick yesterday, I was able to make some progress with the shipment with the parts. Both parts were hung up in Guatemala City. One part was pretty much abandoned by the United States Postal Service and given to FedEx without notifying anyone. But with help from Aisha I was able to get a hold of new tracking numbers, and contact someone in Guatemala City via email. With having to pay another $100 because of duties and taxes, my packages as of this morning are in Peten, Guatemala and should be delivered today. Once everything was figured out I decided I better make it to the local public hospital. My little crash on the motorcycle because of the wind left me with a big thorn still deep in my hand. Realizing that it was not going to work itself out because my pincky had because big and swollen and hurt to move, I decided I better get it taken care of before I take off on the motorcycle.

At the hospital it was not an easy process to find the emergancia area. But with some luck I found it and found a doctor who didn’t believe I had anything in my hand. I assured her I did and she agreed to cut me open. So the preformed surgery, needles, scalpels and the nine yards. Let me tell you dealing with the hospitals down here first hand it is pretty impressive.
